That’s the rundown for this week. Hopefully, there’s something here that catches your eye. Good luck with the applications, and keep your head up out there!

If you’re set on “remote opportunities are pretty sparse,” aim searches at BIM/spool coordinator or piping estimator — last spring I did a remote iso review gig for a fab shop and got paid per drawing. For local, call the hall right at 6 a.m.; I’ve grabbed two shutdowns that never showed online the night before. Remote pipefitter gigs are unicorns, but the paperwork/CAD side pops up if your takeoff skills are solid.

Last fall I landed a remote stint doing QA on ‘as-built redlines’ for a fab shop through Bluebeam — searching for ‘P&ID reviewer’ or ‘document control’ got more hits than “pipefitter.” It paid less than field rates, but it kept me busy between calls and the night hours made it easy to hold a local day gig.

I had luck targeting “turnover coordinator” and “system completion” roles — picked up a 6‑week remote contract assembling test packs and weld traceability for a shutdown. It wasn’t straight pipefitting, but the field know‑how was the hook; just note these are often short and sometimes run on odd hours, so clarify schedule upfront.
