Compact pump room headers saved 24 inches

On a hospital retrofit this week, we went to a stacked, low-profile header using eccentric reducers flat-top and tight 45s on a 6" CHW/4" HW set, and the pump room footprint dropped roughly 30% while keeping service clearances. Coupled with a Monday morning 3D scan-to-prefab push, it was a clean install — anyone else leaning on stacked headers to claw back space in cramped rooms?

We’ve been stacking CHW above HW with ‘flat-top’ eccentrics and holding about 1/8" per foot pitch to a high-point auto vent; that made startup burps painless in a tight pump room. Only caveat: keep 5D+ straight into the pump suctions — if space forces tight 45s, we drop in a short spool or swap to long radius to keep the curves gentle.
