Anybody tracking real cycle counts on Milwaukee M18 Force Logic or RIDGID RP 350 before crimp drift shows up? I’m seeing out-of-spec crimp OD creeping after about 9–10k cycles on 1–1/2 in Type L copper with Viega jaws, verified with a go/no-go ring and mic, despite factory calibration at 6 months — what calibration interval or jaw replacement schedule is holding tolerance for you in the field?
Seeing the same on 1–1/2 in… Type L with Viega; we tightened it up by logging counts per jaw (not just the tool), cleaning/lubing pins weekly, and recal every about 5k cycles — “we retire 1–1/2 in. jaws at about 8k presses” if side play shows up; treat the jaws like brake pads: once the pin slop hits about 0.1–0.2 mm the OD creeps. @OP are your counts per jaw, and are you on HO 6.0/8.0 packs to avoid voltage sag near end-of-pack?
Had this on an RP 350 — OD creep was from jaw pivot wear, not the gun. Do a quick “jaw tip gap” check with feeler gauges and replace the pin/bushing kit or send the jaws in when it’s past Viega’s spec; that brought our 1–1/2 back in tolerance, like swapping brake pads. @OP, have you measured pivot slop or tried a fresh pin kit?
