The Importance of Non-Destructive Testing

In my experience, NDT can be a game changer for ensuring weld integrity. I recently inspected a project where ultrasonic testing revealed several critical flaws that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. If you’re not incorporating NDT into your workflow, you’re risking compliance and safety — it’s worth the investment for quality assurance.

I totally agree about NDT being crucial. I’ve seen firsthand how radiographic testing caught some hidden defects in a pipeline installation, and it saved us a lot of headaches down the line. It’s like making sure your car’s brakes work before heading on a road trip — better safe than sorry.

NDT can definitely catch flaws that would slip through in visual inspections. In one of my projects, we used magnetic particle testing and identified several issues before the pressure test — it really saved us. It’s all about being proactive; as they say, ‘better safe than sorry’.
